Penny Wars!
The Penny Wars have come to LPS- San Jose. They took place from November 1st – 16th. In these Penny Wars our advisories earned points by putting pennies in the piggy banks. Dollar coins are worth -20 points, dimes are worth -2 points, quarters are worth -5 points and nickels are worth -1 point while pennies are worth +1 point. LPS-San Jose raised this money for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Thanks to this fundraiser there will be more families who will be able to enjoy a nice meal on Thanksgiving.
However, these penny wars have created huge competition between our advisories. The advisories that really fought to give it their all were Ms. Stevens, Mr. Garcia and Mr. Gonzales. As of last week we have raised over a hundred dollars. However, as of November 16th the results were incredible! The Penny Wars were over and as a school we raised over $600!! The top three advisories that raised the most money were in third place was Mr. Sanda with $107.53; in second was Ms. Stevens with $126.97 and in first place was Mr. Garcia with $154.53. Thanks to all the other advisories that also helped out with the fundraising.
