Scholarship Obstacles

To get a scholarship, there will be three barriers that students have in front of them. First, you should participate in school clubs, sports, or any other organization. Second, you will need good grades so you can be noticed by any college! Lastly, you need to overcome yourself. This means that you will need to believe that you can do it, and watch out for tempting things such as slacking off, procrastination, and laziness. These obstacles seem easy to take down, but what makes it harder than it looks?
Teen Participation
Teen participation in school activities is what colleges want. They want to have teens be involved in school activities so that their school can look good. The only problem here is that these activities could go into after-school hours. A lot of teens don’t have time to participate in after-school activities because they have after-school jobs to help support their family. Also, some teens have to baby-sit so their parents can work.
Grade Point Average
Probably one of the hardest things to do is impress top notch colleges with your grades. The student’s grade point average (GPA) must be higher than a 3.6. Don’t forget, your GPA is important, and you need test scores to be high as well. You don’t need to work extremely hard for this GPA, but you need to always pay attention to what you’re learning. Almost everyone has problems with paying attention because of boredom, being tired, or maybe they just don’t want to. So, that makes it a little tough. Organization could be an obstacle in front of having a 3.6 GPA. For example, you have a report due, but you can’t find it, so you turn it in late and get a lower grade. That lower grade could have been the highway for your 3.6 GPA. Some good ways to help get your GPA is studying, taking notes, and of course, paying attention. If you don’t understand something, you can use the internet to research, ask around, or go to an after-school tutoring to receive help from teachers.
Believe
Everyone shares a common obstacle: themselves. This means that everyone is lazy at some point, and doesn’t want to do what is needed. Sometimes their obstacle is frustration, and how they get around it. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, people are always facing themselves in ways that they don’t know it. A simple example, you have to do an essay, but you feel like you just want to sit back and relax. Are you going to do the essay, or just chill? This is the problem. The one way that you can get over it is just by doing what you know you need to do, and don’t give in to temptation.
These three barriers seem so simple to get past, and they are if you think about it. Overcoming these obstacles will get you a nice looking scholarship and help greatly in the long run. It’ll take a little bit of work to do this, but it isn’t really asking for a lot. Now that you know what’s in your way, try and prepare for it and be ready to take each obstacle on.
This is the basic ways to receive a scholarship. If you have these all covered, are looking for a scholarship, or just want more information, here are some sites that you can go to.
These two sites will allow you to search for scholarships just by giving them information such as where you live, your email, zipcode, etc. Also they will show you how many student’s college was paid for just by having scholarships.
