Drug treatment may be Vick’s way out
by Javier Chavez
Michael Vick entered a drug treatment program at a Kansas prison, which could reduce the 23-month sentence on a federal dogfighting conviction.
Micheal Vick is at the U.S. Bureau of Prisons minimum security facility in Leavenworth.
Vick tested positive for marijuana in September after his guilty plea. If there is successful completion of the program, Vick will be let out a year early. Staff members must review Vick’s records and behavior to determine if he is eligible for early release.
If Vick earns the early release, he could be ready to play in the 2009 football season.
