An MVP award wasn’t given out after the Green Bay Packers’ 42-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field.

If there were an MVP award, Green Bay’s offensive line would have deserved the award. The offensive line helped Ryan Grant run for a team record 201 yards. The offensive line kept Seattle’s defense away from Brett Farve, who threw for 173 yards.

Grant ended up running for 201 yards and scored three touchdowns. Packer center Scott Wells said Grant didn’t show any signs of frustration. The Packer’s defensive side of the team completely shut down Seattle’s running game. The Packers will play the New York Giants who upset Dallas in Dallas 21-17.

For the second year in a row Dallas quarterback Tony Romo kept Dallas out of the NFC championship game. Last year, it was a mishandled hold for a last second field goal. This years’ mistake was an interception with less than a minute left to play in the forth quarter.

Tony Romo’s mistake was a boon to Green Bay because now the Giants had to play Green Bay at Lambeau Field on Sunday with the temperature expected to hover around 7 degrees.

The Packers beat the New York giants in week two of the season 35-13 in the Meadowlands. But the Giants have improved considerably since the second week of the season.

Packers had an early seven-point favorite to beat the New York Giants on Jan. 19th in the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau field .
The last time the two teams played against each other for the NFC title was 1962 at Lambeau Field. Lombardi and the Packers won that one.
